Adult Core Fitness Classes
Drop off the kids, and join us Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings for an hour of fun, low-impact adult core fitness activities.
Your core muscles are the foundation of just about every movement you make. They help support your back and shoulders, and give support to your pelvis. With a strong core, you'll be fitter and more agile. You'll also be less likely to develop back pain, and you may find your posture improving. Experts say that core training leads to functional fitness——fitness that helps you in your daily life.
Some programs confuse core training with abdominal exercises, but the abs are just one set of core muscles. In our training sessions we'll work on muscle groups throughout your core, being careful to developing opposing muscles equally.
Each one hour session is carefully supervised. We use simple equipment (stability balls, Bosu Balls, kettlebells, resistance bands), and include warm-up and cool-down stretching exercises.
Wear comfortable loose clothing—no special shoes are required as we work barefoot on the mat. Call (972) 899 0202 for times, availability, and pricing.
Susan Dean—Certified Fitness Trainer
I've been involved in fitness since 2002, working first at Fitness Works for Women. As well as my formal certifications, I've done continuing education in weight management at Cooper along with Functional Movement by Perform Better.
I'm a strong believer in the importance of building strength from the core out, working with my students to improve both their fitness and their overall health. We've also been known to have the occasional laugh….
